The Brief

To create a brand identity celebrating the mix of modernity and tradition at the heart of Smiling Tree Farm and to build a website platform that could continually grow and improve as the business itself took shape and evolved.

The Challenge

Using Smiling Tree Farm’s beautiful and organic brand identity, we designed and built a website that could grow at the same rate as this emerging business. Central to the Smiling Tree Farm ethos is the mix of both modern and traditional methods to grow food and raise happy, healthy animals.

The Jersey cows feed on grass, hay and sprouted peas and barley for example, producing delicious, nutrient-dense raw milk, butter and cheese. We wanted to give the Smiling Tree Farm team a platform to tell their unique stories and share their approach to smallholding and pastoral farming with the wider world. Phase one of the website therefore became a dynamic content waterfall of news and blog content. This allowed the team to share their vision, whilst retaining total control over the content, with selected stories being promoted to the home page.

Using this platform, we were able to release additional functionality and site sections, as the Smiling Tree Farm business continued to take shape. The new pages include farming method pages (detailing best practice for aspiring agriculturalists), produce pages and course pages for farm visitors and volunteers. Finally, the ecommerce online shop houses all of the Smiling Tree Farm produce offerings, so customers can browse and make online purchases with ease.
