During the great debate over Twitter’s announcement that they are open to increasing the character limit from 140 to 10,000, we conducted a poll on the channel to see how our followers felt about the news.
The results were pretty telling and matched the sentiment of the wider debate.
As communicators in the digital space, we rate the fact that you have to say what you want to say in such a concise way. Clearly getting your message across is half of the fun and it’s this USP that defines the Twitter that we know and love.
The 140 characters limit provides bite size and compelling messages, in easy to digest form and cuts out a lot of the noise.
Marc mocked up a 10,000 character tweet to show just how noisy Twitter feeds could become if Twitter decides to go ahead, despite the obvious resistance of their users.
